About two thousand residents of Asaba Capital territory, Delta State, Friday, participated and benefited from the free medical outreach organized by the Isioma Okobah Foundation.
Part of the free medical outreach which took place at the premises of the St. Mulumba’s Catholic chaplaincy Okpanam in Oshimili North LGA, attracted both members and non members of the church. The Foundation specifically rendered free health care services to members of the Catholic Women Organization (CWO) as part of activities commemorating the yearly Chaplaincy August meeting.
The outreach also featured free tests/screening for persons with hypertension, diabetes, malaria and free medical treatment for different ailments, distribution of free long lasting insecticide treated nets, health counselling, lectures on diabetes and hypertension with causes, types, prevention, management, care and support as well as distribution of free drugs. Patients who require continuous drugs for hypertension and diabetes were also encouraged to visit the Isioma Okobah Foundation community health center at Igbodo in Ika North East LGA of the state.
In his remark, the chaplain of the St. mulumba’s Catholic Chaplaincy Rev. Fr Francis Onwordi (Jnr), showered encomiums on the founder of the foundation Dr (Mrs.) Isioma Okobah, for her numerous selfless services to humanity describing the gesture as both spiritual and corporal works of mercy in line with the teachings of “Our Lord Jesus Christ”. The clergy prayed For Gods blessings, guidance and protection on Dr. Isioma Okobah.
Similarly, the beneficiaries which included pregnant women and nursing mothers, expressed joy while appreciating the Donor and praying for her to continue enjoying good health, long life and prosperity.
