FLOOD: Delta IDPs Commend Gov. Okowa For Safe Delivery Of Children

Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State, has been commended for providing conducive holding camps for the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in the state, thereby enabling safe delivery of children by pregnant IDPs.

 The commendation was made by the IDPs during a presentation of baby items by the Dr. Isioma Okobah Foundation to one of the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) who put to bed a bouncing baby girl in the early hours of Friday, Oct. 5, 2018.

The mother of the newborn Mrs. Deborah Nonso, had been taking refuge in the Oneh Primary School holding camp Asaba, Delta State as a result of flooding which submerged their houses and means of livelihood. Mrs. Nonso and her child were reportly in good condition as they gave special thanks to the State governor Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa for providing a conducive camp for them.

Mrs. Nonso who couldn’t suppress her excitement upon receiving the baby items courtesy of Dr. Isioma Okobah, disclosed that ” I am very happy that Dr. Isioma Okobah has remembered me. I heard what she did for others and thank God she has done for me as she did for others. Me, I will also name my baby Isioma (smiling)”. She remarked.

She also commended the medical team from the Ministry of Health and the Primary Health Care Development Agency led by the chairman of the agency Dr. Isioma Okobah, for her safe delivery.

Items donated included: baby bath, flask, baby bed, wipe and suck, cap, comb, cotton bud, pampers, mouth towel, clothes, sponge, baby bib, set of baby cream, powder, soaps, baby oil, hair cream, wrappers, mosquito nets, among others.
